Dance Auditions

IN Series is looking for professional dancers!

In May of 2024, IN Series will present THE RETURN OF ULYSSES: Song of my Father, an new largescale
work combining opera, theater, dancer, and poetry to honor the Vietnam veteran homecoming
experience and coinciding with the 60 th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War. The new work will
be choreographed by world renowned Thai contemporary artist Jitti Chompee, director of the acclaimed
18 Monkeys, contemporary dance company. IN Series seeks three dance/movement artists to work
with Jitti in the creation of this exciting new work combining diverse movement and theater styles,
and blending in traditional South East Asian Kohn movement as well.

Rehearsals will begin in Washington, DC on April 12th 2024, with a general schedule of weekday morning
and evening sessions, and Saturday afternoon and evening sessions. Performances are in Washington,
DC May 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 27 and Baltimore May 31 st and June 1st and 2nd . Artist fee for the
project will be $3,200.

All dancers/movers are welcomed, with experience in any type of dance or physical-theater regardless
of genre. IN Series proudly invites artists that reflect the diversity of America, particularly in racial and
gender expression.

Auditions will be conducted digitally. For a first round, interested artists are invited to watch the two
following videos of Jitti Chompee recent work and to respond, either in writing or in a short video, with
thoughts, impressions, reactions (there are no wrong answers!); as well as to send a short video of
yourself in motion – something you create or improvise yourself, in any style, form, as long as it reflects
who you are.

A select group of candidates will the be invited for a zoom interview with the artist team before final
casting is decided.
